For Sale: 1971 Ford Torino in Macedonia, Ohio for sale in Macedonia, OH

1 of 50
Vehicle Description One of only 1613 GT convertibles built.
Nice restoration in great colors.
Loaded with options, including factory A/C and power windows.
Great-running 351 Cleveland V8 upgraded to 4-barrel carb and Shaker hood scoop.
A rare piece of Ford muscle ready to rock!Interestingly enough, we know both the second and most recent owners of this cool Torino GT convertible.
It hails from Texas and the second owner is a client who recognized it in our showroom.
He was living in Texas at the time and was the one who first painted it black (from the original Light Gold, a worthwhile improvement).
It has since been re-restored and the current gloss black looks absolutely fantastic in person.
The super straight Texas sheetmetal stands up to the scrutiny that black paint gets and the lack of laser stripes (which were optional) gives it a purposeful look.
Sometime in the past, a Shaker hood scoop was added and it looks factory-installed, a tribute to the care used in the installation.
It also carries optional hidden headlights which make a big difference in the Torino's aggressive look, along with the ribbed GT rocker panel trim.
Add in some beautiful chrome bumpers, sport mirrors, and that ultra-cool full-width rear taillight and you get a car that looks spectacular from any angle.
The Ginger interior is a nice change from the usual black, and in the Torino you get full-sized comfort to go with your muscle.
The interior has been restored to largely stock specs, including the seats, carpets, and door panels.
The dash was re-covered in matching vinyl with a French seam around the instrument panel-a nice detail.
This car includes a long list of options including factory A/C, power windows, tinted glass, and a power convertible top, making it very easy to live with.
The original AM/FM stereo radio has been replaced by a digital head unit with auxiliary input for your phone or iPod.
The seats are comfortable and there's room for five or six depending on how friendly you are with your companions.
The black power convertible top stows under a matching Ginger boot, so it has a clean look and a glass rear window makes the Torino feel a bit more upscale than its competition.
There's also a giant trunk correctly outfitted with a plaid mat with no signs of trouble underneath.
The engine is an H-code 351 Cleveland V8.
The H-code was originally equipped with a 2-barrel carburetor, but this one has been upgraded to a 4-barrel living under a factory-correct Shaker hood scoop.
The engine was rebuilt to otherwise stock specs and runs beautifully-nice torque and very street-friendly manners.
It wears Ford Blue engine enamel and a set of Ford Motorsport finned aluminum valve covers, and the little details are right, too:
wire hose clamps, an Autolite battery topper, and correct finishes on things like the hinges and brackets.
The A/C system has been converted to R134a refrigerant, to it'll be easy to maintain in the future, although the big compressor dominates the engine bay.
It's backed by a C4 3-speed automatic transmission and 3.
00 gears in the 9-inch rear end, so it's an easy cruiser that lets the 351's torque do the work.
The rest of the undercarriage is largely original, but as a lifetime Texas car, rot is a non-issue and the important areas like the rockers and torque boxes are solid.
You will note rebuilt front suspension and power steering components, power front disc brakes, and a mellow-sounding dual exhaust system.
Magnum 500 wheels are always the right choice on a muscular Ford, with these carrying correct G70-14 Firestone Wide Oval tires.
Documentation includes a Deluxe Marti Report and photos of the car in original condition.
This car struck a chord with us.
It's not only rare, but it delivers that perfect combination of performance and comfort that makes it an ideal hobby car.
It's fun to drive for anyone and asks for very little, yet attracts crowds wherever it goes simply because few people have seen one before.
And it's priced thousands less than a comparable (and more common) Chevelle or GTO.
Give the Ford a try and we think you'll be impressed.
