Iconic '67 Mustang fastback ready to have fun!If there's one Mustang everyone can agree is cool, it's the 1967 fastback.
Perfect proportions, an aggressive look, and a wide range of powerplants make it a perennial favorite.
This particular fastback isn't a pedigree car but rather a cool driver with a nice older restoration that's well documented.
The door tag says this one was originally Nightmist Blue, but when it was refinished they selected simple Wimbledon White, a traditional Mustang color that always looks good.
Bodywork is nicely done with good gaps all around and that potentially controversial Thunderbolt-style fiberglass hood (which would be easy to change if it's not your taste).
The rest is pure classic Mustang, from the wide grille opening to the louvers on the sail panels to the three-element taillights, this car looks like every kid's dream car come to life.
Beyond the hood there are no serious modifications or customizations, so no goofy stripes or spoilers to ruin the car's classic good looks.
It appears that most of the chrome was restored or replaced during the restoration, so the brightwork remains in great shape.
This is a Mustang that makes everyone stop and admire it when it drives past.
The interior is largely stock with a few custom touches, most notably the red inserts on the headrests with embroidered running pony emblems.
It's reminiscent of the later Mach 1 upholstery and we dig the look-classic and simple without being over-the-top.
A wood-rimmed wheel frames the original gauges, which are joined by a tachometer on the steering column to keep an eye on the snarky 302 under the hood.
For entertainment, there's a later JVC digital AM/FM/cassette head unit feeding speakers stashed throughout the interior and yes, the 'garage door' storage compartment underneath works properly.
This car also has a relatively rare overhead consolette with built-in map lights as well as the fold-down rear seat that makes it one of the most practical pony cars you can own.
The trunk was refinished with a carpeted mat in place of the original vinyl and includes a full-sized spare tire with its own matching cover.
The original engine was a modest C-code 289 with a 2-barrel carburetor, but during the restoration it received a stout 302 cubic inch V8 that slides right in and looks almost stock.
There's a big Edelbrock air cleaner on top, which hides a matching 4-barrel carburetor and aluminum intake, and an upgraded camshaft inside gives it a bit of a performance lope at idle.
Ford Blue engine enamel works with a few chrome pieces to give it a well-dressed look and they got a lot of the details right, from the washer fluid bag on the inner fender to the FoMoCo hoses with tower hose clamps.
There's also a big radiator up front, a custom set of aluminum pullies, and an export brace and Monte Carlo bar to firm up the front end.
Underneath, you'll find a slick-shifting 4-speed that makes the most of the high-revving 302's performance and the Ford 9-inch rear end has a set of 3.
50 gears on a limited slip so it hooks up well.
Other details include long-tube headers, a custom exhaust system with electronic cut-outs (it sounds EPIC), rebuilt front suspension, new shocks, and subframe connectors to reinforce the tub.
No rot, no patchwork, just a clean, solid Mustang with a few choice upgrades.
And those shiny Cragar SS mags are the perfect finishing touch, wearing 215/70/14 blackwall radials all around.
Documentation is extensive, including restoration receipts, photographs, correspondence, ownership paperwork, and much more.
It also includes some touch-up paint and a few spare parts.
Mustangs are always popular and nothing flies out of our showroom faster than 1967-68 fastbacks.
This one is clean, well-executed, and carries a 4-speed manual gearbox.
A cool vintage Mustang that's done right and ready to enjoy.
