Vehicle Description Matching numbers 440/TorqueFlite.
Beautiful rotisserie restoration in original colors.
Highly detailed engine and undercarriage, excellent bodywork, beautifully refinished interior.
Rally gauges with tachometer.
Everything works, ready to rumble! This car comes to us from a gentleman who knows these cars so well that he can spot an incorrect bolt from 20 paces.
The 1969 GTX is his personal favorite, and as such, he lavished a lot of extra attention on this gorgeous F5 Limelight metallic hardtop.
Paint and bodywork are surely better than anything Chrysler Corp.
was applying in 1969, with a deep shine and just a hint of metallic gold underneath to really make it pop in the sunlight.
As the 'grown up' version of the E-body, the GTX took a more subdued path than the Road Runner, but you could still get aggressive hood stripes and those red vents on the hood to show you meant business.
The GTX also got satin black rockers with that red pinstripe, which is arguably its most appealing feature.
Finish work is outstanding in every way, with ripple-free reflections on all the surfaces and great panel gaps throughout.
The quarters have been replaced, but the work was so expertly done that you have to look inside at the undercoating to know for sure.
It's also worth noting that the impossible-to-find grille and tail panel are in excellent shape and most of the chrome has been refinished to match the rest of the car's high-quality look.
Black buckets flanking a center console are the best choice in your gentleman's express, and the interior has been as neatly restored as the rest of the car.
Optional Rally gauges include a tachometer, and they're all fully operational.
New upholstery fresh correct carpets, and reproduction door panels make it look crisp inside and it appears that even the woodgrain appliques have been replaced so it looks right.
The original R11 Music Master AM radio is still in the dash, although it sadly does not seem to be operational.
The headliner appears to be a nice original piece (the flash makes it look worse than it actually is) and the trunk is outfitted with a reproduction trunk mat and a correct spare tire assembly with jack.
And please note that the trunk extensions and floor are in outstanding condition-this was not a rusty car!The engine is a 440 cubic inch Super Commando V8, which has a matching VIN stamp on the lower oil pan rail.
It has been rebuilt to stock specs and detailed correctly, including Hemi Orange paint, an original air cleaner with pie tin, and even Mopar-branded hoses and correct clamps.
It's also superbly tuned, starting easily, idling smoothly, and pulling the relatively lightweight GTX around without much strain at all.
It has a nice V8 rumble from the fresh exhaust system, but never gets annoying, which is part of the GTX's appeal-this is the muscle car for guys who don't need loud exhausts to get noticed.
Glance underneath and you'll find a highly detailed undercarriage, including rebuilt front suspension and the 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, which also wears a matching VIN stamp.
The 8.
75-inch rear end has been rebuilt and detailed with assembly markings and is filled with 3.
23 gears to make this a comfortable cruiser (that big block doesn't need much gear anyway).
There are also new shocks all around plus a new gas tank hanging out back.
Fresh 15-inch Magnum 500 wheels are an inch bigger than stock, but they look so right with those fat 7.
75-15 BFGoodrich redline tires that nobody's going to complain.
Extras include the original owner's manual and warranty booklet.
Cars like this never last long and every other Mopar restored by this particular gentleman has been snapped up quickly.
The quality is tangible, it has a strong pedigree, and the GTX makes a statement about the driver-a guy who knows what he wants and doesn't need to be showy about it.
With great road manners and beautiful workmanship, this is the GTX to own.
