Job Description: Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of the controls and automation equipment which includes troubleshooting, preforming program backups, and system upgrades. Direct involvement with cross-functional team that include safety, quality, engineering, and production. This position will provide technical guidance to other members of the maintenance team and other technical members of Silgan. Job
Responsibilities: Installation, start-up, and maintenance of high-volume automated production machinery.Ability to understand, trouble shoot and correct automation issues with Programmable Logic Controllers and Peripheral Interface Devices.Knowledge of PLC Programming and how it relates to the design and control of automated equipment.Ability to perform changeovers on auxiliary equipment when needed.Assists struggling co-workers, will fill in where needed without being asked.Crossed trained in other multiple job functions, to help create bench strengths in other areas.Displays personal accountability, recognizes problems, and responds accordingly.Always goes above and beyond, stays above the line, and works as a lift for fellow co-workers.Adhere to current and future company standards for conducting work and safety inspections of equipment.Work safely and in a manner consistent with all OSHA and internal safety policies and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned. Experience: 3 years maintenance and/or automation work experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with PLC's & panel buildingExperience with robotics and setting up/modifying programsExperience with general electronics, mechanics, and pneumaticsBasic machine troubleshooting skills/ability to solve electrical and mechanical issuesAbility to troubleshoot and re-concept mechanismsPositive attitude, strong/safe work ethic, and strong mechanical aptitudeAbility to use Microsoft Excel.Willingness to assist other cross-functional groups based on needsAbility to work independently and be proactiveAbility to analyze, interpret and report data based on machine performance.Minimum of high school diploma or GED preferred.Ability to learn, grow and adapt to changing business needs. Physical Requirements: Frequently required to lift and or move weights up to 35 lbs.Use of Personal protective equipment on the production floor (PPE)Physical requirements include but not limited to sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, crouching, color determination and grasping.ID:qnkTyxEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
